To save a snapshot:
1. | On the Tools menu, select Save Snapshot. |
2. | Enter the path of the folder tree to be saved. If you access Save Snapshot from a Folder Compare session, you have the option of selecting the left or right base folders from that session. |
3. | Mark the appropriate boxes to also include CRCs computed from each file's contents, version data, or expanded zip contents. These options will make it take longer to create the snapshot, but the results will be more thorough. |
CRCs Includes CRC32 calculations in the snapshot.
Version data Includes file version, typically found in application files such as .exe, .dll, .ocx, etc.
Archive contents Includes expanded listing of zip file contents in the snapshot.
4. | The Use file filters checkbox is available when Save Snapshot is opened from a Folder Compare session. Mark this box to uses the Folder Compare session's file filters to limit what's included in the snapshot. |
5. | Mark the Empty folders box to include empty folders, or folders whose entire contents have been filtered out. |
6. | Click Start and a dialog will prompt for the filename and location to save the snapshot to. |
